The Carat Curator BV ("we", "our") is the data controller responsible for your personal data, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679, GDPR) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018.

What we collect
Identity and contact data (name, email, phone, billing and shipping address), order and payment data (processed by Shopify Payments — we never store full card numbers), appointment requests, marketing preferences, and technical data (IP, browser, cookies) collected when you visit the site.
Why we process it
To fulfil and ship your orders, to manage private appointments and aftercare, to comply with our accounting and tax obligations under Belgian law, to prevent fraud, and — with your consent — to send you occasional editorial newsletters.
Legal basis
Performance of the sales contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR), legal obligation (6.1.c), legitimate interest in securing the site and preventing fraud (6.1.f), and your consent for marketing communications and non-essential cookies (6.1.a).
Retention
Order, invoicing and accounting data are retained for 7 years as required by Belgian tax law. Marketing data are kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics are retained for 14 months maximum.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority — Autorité de protection des données, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.
California & US residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA: the right to know what personal information we collect and disclose, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
